Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Bless the food bloggers with their amazing stories. But you won’t find that here, guys. Sorry? But if you are looking for a really good cookie recipe, I’m your gal. Because the bottom line is sometimes you just need a chocolate chip cookie. Especially one with simple ingredients and one with a recipe that will allow your kids to help….if you want to share with them, that is. Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

makes 30 cookies. cut recipe in half if you want less!

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (can sub with cinnamon)
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp almond extract (can sub with vanilla)
2 eggs
1 (10 oz) package dark chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375
Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice in small bowl
Beat butter, sugars, and almond extract until creamy
Add in eggs and beat until well mixed
Gradually stir in flour mixture
Stir in dark chocolate chips
Place dough in freezer for about 5-10 minutes if desired to make it easier to transfer to cookie sheet
Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheet
Bake for 8-10 minutes
Transfer to wire rack to cool
